The Museum of the Louvre celebrates the bicentenary of the French revolution on November 18, 1993. The buildings of the old Ministry for Finances assigned now to the museum are entirely renovated. Inaugurated by François Mitterrand, President of the fifth (5th) French Republic, the Richelieu wing, completes the restoration of the project of the Large Louvre. Indeed, the Ministry for Finances was moved in the Parisian East, in new buildings, with Bercy, in order to be able to increase the space dedicated to the collections.
